Today I tried to focus on endurance running. Instead of running my normal half an hour I decided to increase it to 45 min. I slowed down the speed to a little bit slower than what I normally run at and kept it there until 30 min. After the first 30 minutes I kept increasing the speed. I ended up with a total of 7.8 km. Plus however much walking I did today while I was downtown. I estimate at least a total of 10 km on foot, and another 10 on my bicycle. I am pretty tired now. I think I should go to bed.

  1. I'm only counting the 7.8 towards the total, because I have no way of knowing how much I went today other than what the treadmill told me.

  2. Are you running the entire time and at what speed are you running?

  3. I'm running the entire time. I usually start at 7.5 for a min or two to warm up then I run at 9.5 and raise it every by .5 every five minutes. Then in that last five minutes I start raising it by 1 or 1.5 every 1:30-2:00 minutes. This last run though I kept it at 9.5 for the first 30 minutes then I sped it up in the last 15 minutes. I have no idea what the 9.5 actually means though. It could be 9.5kilo per hour i guess, but I don't know.

  4. that would make sense but i don't know either. 9.5 mph would feel like you are running your heart out -- real hard. you might just be in that shape though.
